Moynalvey continued their winning sequence in Division 3 of the B League when overcoming Dunshaughlin on a 5-15 to 0-14 score line at Dunshaughlin on Tuesday evening July 12th.

Dunshaughlin 0-14 Moynalvey 5-15

Moynalvey opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a Ciaran Ennis free, before Dunshaughlin equalised three minutes later. This was as close as the host side got to their opponents, as Moynalvey lead 2-7 to 0-3 after 24 minutes, courtesy of scores from Ciaran Ennis (1-2), Brian Conneely (0-1), Johnny Carey (0-1), Willie Harnan (0-1), Willie Byrne (0-1), Alan Donnelly (1-0) and Donal Smith (0-1). The remaining 5 minutes of the half saw Dunshaughlin add a further 0-3 to their tally, with Eoin Maher registering for Moynalvey; to leave the half time score line reading 2-8 to 0-6 in favour of the visitors.

Following the break, Dunshaughlin reduced the deficit to five points when they hit the opening three points of the second half. However, any hopes of a Dunshaughlin revival were dashed when Willie Byrne and Ciaran Ennis found the net within sixty seconds of each other, pushing Moynalvey’s advantage to eleven points. On the three quarter mark, the difference between the sides remained the same, following a further 0-1 from Ennis, and second points of the evening for Conneely and Maher. Willie Byrne raised his second green flag of the evening in the 49th minute following a neat flick pass from substitute PJ Walsh. A minute later, William Harnan split the posts after receiving a short ’45 from Ciaran Ennis. Another Harnan effort along with a second point of the evening for Donal Smith and a Ger Fagan point rounded off the Moynalvey scoring.
