Moynalvey got the better of their North Meath opponents in a keenly contested Division 3 A league game played in damp conditions in Nobber on Saturday evening June 6th.

Moynalvey got off to the perfect start in the the 5th minute, when a Cathal Sheridan centre found Willie Byrne, who dispatched the ball to the net from close range. Things got better for Moynalvey in the 18th minute when Brendan Dixon turned provider for Sheridan this time, with the full forward smashing the ball home from close range. This left the score reading 2-0 to 0-3 in favour of the visitors. In the remaining 12 minutes of the half, Monalvey tagged on another 4 points, through Sheridan (3), and a John Donoghue effort, leaving the score line reading 2-4 to 0-4 in favour of Moynalvey at the interval. . Upon the restart, Moynalvey added to their advantage with a well taken point from David Durkan. Nobber added the next two scores of the game, before Stephen Donoghue landed a massive effort from distance, putting the visitors into a two goal lead with 20 minutes remaining. After Nobber responded with a point of their own, Moynalvey added points from substitute Mark O’Sullivan & a converted Sheridan free.
