Moynalvey moved themselves away from the basement of the Division 3 A league table when coming away from Drumconrath with a hard earned five point win on Friday evening 21st May.

Moynalvey 1-15 Drumconrath 2-7

Moynalvey made the long journey to Drumconrath profitable as they registered their second win of the 2010 league campaign. It was the home side who started the game brightest opening up a two point lead, pointing in the opening minute and again in the fourth minute. However Moynalvey found their feet and as they began to dominate proceedings they hit seven unanswered points, all from different scorers. The home side reduced the deficit to two points in the 20th minute when the Moynalvey defence switched off allowing Drumconrath in for a goal. A further five points in the remaining 10 minutes of the half saw Moynalvey go into the second period with a commanding seven point lead on a score line of 0-12 to 1-2.
Moynalvey had a six point advantage when the turning point of the game arrived in the 46th minute when Moynalvey corner back David Kane saw red. The one man advantage spurred Drumconrath into a spirited comeback, coming within a point of their visitors with seven minutes remaining. Ray Ryan stepped forward to seal the win for Moynalvey, hitting 1-1 in the final minutes to see Moynalvey come away with victory on a score line of 1-15 to 2-7.
Moynalveys best performances came from Robert Kiernan, Brendan Dixon, Daniel Treacy and Ray Ryan.
