The long Thursday night trip to Piltown saw Moynalvey run out two point winners over St. Colmcilles in Round 2 of the Feis Cup.

St. Colmcilles 0-14
Moynalvey 2-10

Played under Thursday night lights, new Moynalvey manager John Donoghue & management team picked up their first win of the season having lost to Ratoath in Round one last Saturday.

Graham Reilly opened the scoring for the hosts in the 1st minute, but St. Colmcilles would have to wait until the 14th minute for their next score.

Within that time Moynalvey had racked up 1-4, the goal coming from James Weldon and points from David McLoughlin (2), Darren Brennan and a Ray Ryan '45.

Two Graham Reilly points in the 14th and 16th minutes were followed five minutes later by a well taken goal from Darren Brennan for the visitors, leaving it 2-4 to 0-3 after 21 minutes.

Moynalvey's advantage was extended to eight points with a Mark O'Sulivan point, with St. Colmcilles tagging on three more points before the break to leave the half time score 2-5 to 0-6.

Moynalvey's David McLoughlin opened the 2nd half scoring from a free, followed by a brace of Cilles points.

James Weldon split the uprights for the visitors in the 36th minute, with Graham Reilly replying for St. Colmcilles two minutes later.

A David McLoughlin point was followed by another brace from that man Reilly to leave it 2-8 to 0-11 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

St. Colmcilles narrowed the margin to two points, 2-9 to 0-13 with 55 minutes on the clock.

Despite plenty of pressure on the Moynalvey defence in the final five minutes Cilles could only yield one more point, with David McLoughlin pointing for Moynalvey to leave the final score 2-10 to 0-14.

Next up for Moynalvey is Seneschalstown at home next Saturday afternoon in round 3.
