Moynalvey made up in some small way for the disappointment of losing this years Junior A final by securing the A League Division 4 title in a tightly contested game in Pairc Tailteann, Navan on Sunday, November 11th.

Moynalvey 0 – 8 Moylagh 0 – 6
Moynalvey were very slow starting as the senior hurling championship celebrations of recent weeks seemed to take its toll, and Moylagh led by 0 – 4 to 0 – 1 after 20 minutes, Moynalvey’s point coming from Ciaran Collins after good work from James Weldon.
Moynalvey then upped the tempo and dominated the remainder of the half. Points from Weldon (two), Cathal Sheridan and Willie Byrne meant Moynalvey went in at half time with a slender one point lead on a 0 – 5 to 0 – 4 scoreline. This lead should have been much more however, as Moynalvey were guilty of wasting a number of scoring opportunities, particularly from frees.
The second half resumed in tight fashion and indeed Moylagh scored the only point of the first 20 minutes to leave it 0 – 5 each with ten minutes to go. Willie Byrne then scored two points on the trot with Moylagh then pointing to leave it 0 – 7 to 0 – 6 entering the closing stages. Substitute PJ Walsh then fisted a point to close off the scoring and give Moynalvey a well deserved success.
