Moynalvey's Under-19 ladies team produced a fantastic team performance to run out victors over a gallant Duleek/Bellewstown in this Division 3 championship final played in dunsany on st. Patrick's day.

Moynalvey 4 - 11 Duleek Bellewstown 2 - 4

The Moynalvey girls won their first ever adult championship in Dunsany on St Patrick's Day with an emphatic 4-11 to 2-4 victory over a very determined Duleek/Bellewstown team.Central to this win was full forward Stephanie Thompson with 3-6 to her credit. Although she staerted in the half fprwards she was soon moved to great effect with Ciara Dowling coming out to the 40m line and grabbing a goal and 3 points herself, with Thompson converting 3 early frees and a goal and a point from play. Moynalvey soon stamped their dominance on the game, whenever Duleek threatened the Moynalvey defence of Fiona Madden, captain Ailise Smith, & Aideen Smith thwarted their efforts.

Half-time score: Moynalvey 2-7 Duleek 0-1

The Moynalvey girls could never relax against a team who had beaten them by a single point in the group stages of this competition. Duleek continued to battle and scored 2-3 in the second half but Moynalvey could not be stopped. This was a very strong team performance from Moynalvey.Impressive were Ciara Donoghue, Ciara Dowling, Stephanie Thompson, the Smith sisters, Madden, Lawless and Aoife Weston. Best for for Duleek were the Byrne sisters at 6 and 9, Alex Goodman and Rachel Andrews

Congratulations to all the players and mentors involved on a great victory.
