Moynalvey lost out to Na Fianna by five points in this Div. 2 B League Round 4 tie played on Friday evening May 3rd.

Moynalvey 0-14
Na Fianna 4-7

Down by eight points at half time Moynalvey almost reeled in Na Fianna, closing the margin to two points 15 minutes into the second half, but could not find the scores to equalise and Na Fianna punished them with their only score of the second half being a goal in the 59th minute to extend their winning margin to five.

Moynalvey got off to the perfect start, opening up an early three point lead, James Weldon pointing almost from the throw in followed by a booming score from Mark O'Sullivan and a James O'Neill free.

Glen McDonnell opened Na Fianna's account in the 3rd minute and from there Na Fianna took control of the first half reeling off a further 1-5 without reply, 1-1 from Ben Caldwell, 0-3 from Andrew Glynn and a point from Ciaran McDonnell to leave it 1-6 to 0-3 after 11 minutes.

Moynalvey points from the two James', O'Neill and Weldon either side of a second goal for Na Fianna from Ben Caldwell left it 2-6 to 0-5 on the quarter hour mark.

A third Na Fianna goal from Ciaran McDonnell followed by a point from Evan Mullally left the Enfield/Baconstown side 11 points up after 19 minutes.

Three James O'Neill points for Moynalvey left the home side trailing their visitors by eight points at half time, 3-7 to 0-8.

Five points from Moynalvey without reply from James Weldon (2), James O'Neill (2) and a brilliantly struck '45 from Shaun Deering narrowed the deficit to two points with 45 minutes gone.

However, Moynalvey's inability to score again in the final quarter and a late fourth goal for Na Fianna saw them run out five point winners on a 4-7 to 0-14 score line.
