Ballinlough 2-7 Moynalvey 1-7 . Moynalvey will feel missed chances cost them dearly in their bid to open their Intermediate campaign with the best possible start. In a low scoring first half, Ballinlough were first to register on the score board in the second minute, with Moynalvey responding through a Cathal Sheridan free a minute later. Ballinlough added the next three scores of the game, the third score being a goal, leaving the men from North Meath five points to the good after just 15 minutes.  Moynalvey got themselves back into the game with a fine individual score from James Weldon & a pointed effort from play by Cathal Sheridan, before Ballinough added a fourth point on the stroke of half time to leave the score 1-4 to 0-3.  . Upon the restart, Ballinlough furthered their lead, adding the first two scores of the second half.  Moynalveys response came in the 42nd minute through a point from substitute Brian Gilsenan.  In the 45th minute Moynalvey were given a glimmer of hope when John Donoghue was fouled on the edge of the square, resulting in a penalty being awarded, with Sheridan converting the rebound after his original effort was saved.  However a serious of wasted chances over the last 15 minutes cost Moynalvey dearly, with the game being put to dead with 2 minutes remaining, when Ballinlough netted for the second time.  Moynalveys only response in between came through the boot of two pointed efforts from Sheridan, leaving the final scoreline 2-7 to 1-7 in favour of Ballinlough.
