Curraha 0-10
Moynalvey 1-16

Having suffered two losses in their last two outings, Moynalvey got their Feis Cup campaign back on track to move them mid-table of the Group A table, while Curraha remain rooted to the bottom without a win.

It was the home side who started brightest with two points from Sean Keogh and Niall McLarnon on the board before Ciaran Harnan opened Moynalvey’s account in the 5th minute.

Midfielder Neil Shortall pointed for Curraha with Moynalvey responding with frees from Adam Murphy and David McLoughlin to tie matters at three points apiece after 11 minutes.

Points once again from McLoughlin and Murphy in the 13th and 14th minutes gave Moynalvey the lead for the first time, one they weren’t to relinquish.

A second Ciaran Harnan point left it double scores 0-6 to 0-3 at the first water break.

Points from Stephen Donoghue, David McLoughlin (2) and Adam Murphy in the second quarter left visitors Moynalvey 0-10 to 0-6 ahead at half time.

Despite dominating second half possession Moynalvey’s wayward shooting kept the home side within touching distance until goal poacher Ciaran Harnan found the back of Matthew Brennan’s net in the 52nd minute to put daylight between the sides, 1-13 to 0-8.

Two Adam Murphy frees either side of a Sean Keogh free for Curraha left it 0-12 to 0-7 three minutes into the second half, with the next score not coming until after the second water break.

That score came from Moynalvey midfielder Stephen Donoghue with the only goal of the game coming soon after from Harnan to leave the score 1-13 to 0-8.

The goal essentially sealed victory for Moynalvey, with three further points from Sean Duggan and Adam Murphy (2) and points from Gavin Coyle and Sean Keogh for the home side rounding off the scoring to give Moynalvey a nine point win on a 1-16 to 0-10 score line.

Best for the winners were Cathal McCabe, Conor Shirren, Darren Brennan, Stephen Donoghue and Adam Murphy.
