Conor Harnan removebg previewSt. Peters Dunboyne had seven points to spare over host side Moynalvey in a hard fought Feis Cup round 6 encounter on Wednesday 14th July.

Moynalvey 1-4
St. Peters Dunboyne 0-14

High flying unbeaten table toppers St. Peters Dunboyne went into the game having scored seventeen goals in their five outings to date, but the Moynalvey defence managed to do what no other team had done and keep a clean sheet against the prolific Dunboyne attack.

The only goal of the game came as early as the third minute when a surging run forward by full back Conor Harnan saw his shot at goal saved by Dunboyne ‘keeper Liam Byrne, but the rebound was finished to the net by David McLoughlin.

Unfortunately, that early goal proved to be Moynalvey’s only score of the half as St. Peter’s reeled off 10 points without reply from Jason Daly (4), Conor Bradley (2), Ronan Jones, Cathal Finn, Stuart Lowndes and Craig Lowndes, leaving it 0-10 to 1-0 to the visitors at the break.

The second half was more evenly contested with both sides hitting four points, Moynalvey’s coming from Adam Murphy (2), David McLoughlin and Stephen Donoghue and Dunboyne’s from Stuart Lowndes, Jason Daly and Conor Bradley (2), leaving the score board read 0-14 to 1-4 at the final whistle.

Best for Moynalvey were Conor Harnan, Brian O’Reilly, David Donoghue and Darren Brennan.

After six rounds St. Peters Dunboyne maintain their 100% record while Moynalvey have three wins from their six outings.

The final round of group games sees Moynalvey take on neighbours Summerhill at home next Wednesday.
