In this close encounter between the two neighbouring teams it was Summerhill who prevailed and took the game by a narrow margin in the IFC.

Moynalvey 2-8 Summerhill 4-6

The game was played at a high intensity with both teams displaying good quality football played under calm conditions in Moynalvey on Monday evening last. Moynalvey will be disappointed with some of the mistakes made in the game especially through simple passes and some shooting efforts. The famous line that ''goals win matches, points are for glory'' proved relevant in this game as Summerhill struck 4 goals for the win with 3 of those goals coming in the first half. Those 3 goals gave Summerhill the advantage and taking the lead at half time with a scoreline of 3-4 to 1-4.

The crowd came for an entertaining game and both teams didn't disappoint in the second half. Moynalvey went down to 14 players 5 minutes into second half when Ciara Donoghue was sin binned for a foul on Jenny Rispin. Moynalvey dug deep and even with a player down Moynalvey were able to keep Summerhill scoreless in that 10 minute period. The killer blow came 20 minutes into the second half when Niamh Crowe struck for goal. Moynalvey tried desperately to get the goal back they needed but a little bit of luck just didn't transpire. Well done to both teams on an excellent display of football. Moynalvey will pick themselves up and look forward to the next encounter.
