Ladies lose out in Intermediate Championship Opener

In this exciting opening round of the intermediate championship it was St. Micheals who got off to a winning campaign with a 7 points win in Moynalvey on Sunday evening last.

There wasn’t much between the two sides in the opening half with only 1 point splitting the teams at half time in favour of St. Micheals. St. Miche...als started the second half with a blistering pace that Moynalvey couldn’t manage to control. Micheals struck 2 goals that were crucial in the win. Hopes of a comeback were restored when Tara Smith struck a late goal from a 21 yard free but it was too late. St. Micheals went down to 14 players after 55 minutes when one of their prominent was shown a yellow card for a late tackle on Kate Lawless but St. Micheals held on and ran out eventual winners.
