Moynalvey were unfortunate to lose out in this close contest. Dee Rangers started off the better side with 2 points in the first 10 minutes.

Roisin Mallee responded with a nice point but this was to be the only score for the home side in the first half. Moynalvey had hit several balls just short or wide of the post which cost them. A lot of hard work from the defence from both teams resulted in low scoring.

AFL Div 2
Full Time: Moynalvey 0-7 Dee Rangers 1-5
Half Time: Moynalvey 0-1 Dee Rangers 0-2

Moynalvey started the second half at a lively pace with hard work in the forward line from Roisin Mallee and Ailise Smith. Roisin added a further 2 points to her tally with excellent play. Dee Rangers responded with a point but then Eileen sloted over 2 free kicks to add to the score board and the momentum was with Moynalvey. Dee Rangers were still in the game as they worked the ball up the pitch to rattle the back of the Moynalvey net. Moynalvey still fought on with points from Eileen and Aoife, but with 2 further points from Dee Rangers it resulted in Moynalvey losing out by the narrowest of margins.

Best for Moynalvey was Ciara and Roisin Mallee, Eileen Conneely and Kate Lawless.
