Moynalvey ladies suffered a bad result for the first league outing for the Junior Champions against a strong Clan na Gael side.

Moynalvey started off the better with 1-2 scored by captain Tara Smith with no reply. But Clan na Gael came responded with 2 goals shortly after. Moynalvey dominated possession but with two more sloppy goals it left the score board reading 2-2 to 4...-2 at the half, still all to play for.

Moynalvey started lively in the 2nd half with scores from Tara Smith, Louise Donoghue, Katie Little, Kate Lawless and Helena Dowd. But with the loss of full back Ciara Donoghue at half time due to injury, Clan na Gael were very threatening on goal.

Moynalvey have a lot of youth coming through and with excellent performances from Roisin Mallee. Abbey Kilalea, Katie Little and also hard work from Rachel Lawless, there is a lot to be optimistic about for the year ahead.

Moynalvey: A Smith, C O'Sullivan, C Donoghue, H Byrne, A Kilalea, K Lawless (0-1), R Mallee, Aideen Smith, A Weston, R Pender, L Donoghue (0-1), K Little (0-2), C Mallee, T Smith (1-5), H Dowd (0-1)
Subs: Mairead McCabe, Ciara Slevin, Rachel Lawless.
