Despite trailing by a goal at the interval Moynalvey turned in a stunning second half performance to defeat Killary Emmets and take home the Meath U16 Div 3 Football League title at Pairc Tailteann last night.

Moynalvey 1-19
Killary Emmets 1-11

The winners raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead midway through the opening half with fine points from Brian O'Reilly (2), Brian Harnan, Hughie O'Sullivan and Sean Duggan. The Castletown Syddan combination battled their way back into the game and when Daire Roe netted they took the lead 1-6 to 0-7, with five minutes remaining. Roe and Jamie McMahon added points for Killary and they went in at the break 1-8 to 0-8 to the good. The scoreline would have looked different as the wood work was struck three times by Moynalvey and the Killary keeper Ben Corcoran produced some fine saves.

Moynalvey upped a gear in the second half and by the 15th minute led 1-15 to 1-8. Robert Lawless got a goal after two minutes and points from Brian O'Reilly (3), Brian Harnan, Daragh Walsh and O'Sullivan had them very much in control. Killary's only answer was three pointed frees from Daire Roe. Further points from O'Reilly, O'Sullivan, Sean Duggan and Walsh gave Moynalvey a comfortable win.

After the game John Kavanagh presented the U16 Div 3 FL Cup to Moynalvey captain Brian Harnan.
