Summerhill opened the scoring after just a minute of play with a well taken point, however Moynalvey took control of the match scoring 1-03 before Summerhill raised a second flag. The goal was a well taken effort by Padraic Harnan. Moynalvey scored another 2-04 before half time leaving them leading on a score line of 3-07 to 0-05.

Summerhill came storming back into the game in the second half and ensured a tense finish to the match especially with Moynalvey were reduced to 14 men with 15 minutes to go. This victory ensures Moynalvey a place in the semi finals of the competition.
