Moynalvey 2 - 10 Navan O'Mahonys 4 - 6

O'Mahonys started the better and raced into a commanding early lead of 3 - 3 to 0 - 3 after 15 minutes. However, Moynalvey settled and reduced the deficit to 3 points at half time, 3 - 3 to 1 - 6.

The second half was dominated by Moynalvey who tore their opponents to pieces with some scintillating attacking play and by the end of normal time they led by 4 points, 2 - 10 to 3 - 3. However, those in the large attendance who thought that Moynalvey had won a well deserved place in the final were soon to be proved wrong as the referee played an unaccountable 9 minutes of injury time allowing Navan to score their crucial scores.

This was cruel luck after a gallant performance by a great bunch of lads whom the parish is very proud of. The team will now look forward to a Division 1 championship quarter final in 3 weeks time against the winners of the meeting of Dunboyne and Walterstown.
