Leinster JFC winners Moynalvey have been nominated as the Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotels Sports Personality of the Month award winners for December. This rounds off what has been a very memorable year for the club.

Having clinched the Meath JFC with victory over Ratoath in October, they moved up a few gears to add the provincial crown to their haul of trophies when they defeated Rochfortbridge by 0-11 to 0-5 in the decider, played on 7th December.

The overall winner will be selected from the 12 monthly winners and any of the outstanding achievement recipients.

There will also be a number of additional awards including a 'young sports personality-of-the-year’ and a Hall of Fame.

Monthly winners receive a specially commissioned award from local Meath artist Seamus Cassidy and there will also be a one-off trophy for the overall winner.

The invitation-only second annual banquet will be a black tie affair at Knightsbrook where the monthly winners and guests will join representatives of some of the major sporting organisations in Meath, local dignitaries and sponsors for what will be a major sporting celebration.
