Despite playing over half the game with 14 men, Moynalvey produced a good team performance to take the 2 points on offer in this B League Division 2 game played in Trim on Thursday night March 22nd.

Trim 2 - 8 Moynalvey 3 - 10

Moynalvey opened the scoring with points from play by Ciaran Collins and Ciaran Ennis before Trim hit their first pointed effort of the night. A Ray Ryan free followed by a point from play by Brian Conneely was responded to by a second Trim point to leave the score 0 - 4 to 0 - 2 after 15 minutes. Ray Ryan then broke through to fire the first goal of the night but this was negated when Mark Gilsenan expertly despatched a penalty for Trim in the 20th minute. Both sides then shared the next 4 points with Moynalvey's 2 coming from Padraig Donoghue and Ennis before Ryan scored his second goal of the night on 25 minutes. A minute later, corner back Stephen White received a second yellow card and Trim used their man advantage to hit the last 2 points of the half, leaving the interval score at Moynalvey 2 - 6, Trim 1 - 6.

Moynalvey, facing into the slight breeze and a man down, upped their performance for the second half and scored 2 of the first 3 points through Ennis and Ryan. Stout defending and good teamwork ensured Moynalvey kept Trim at bay for most of the half and when Ennis crashed home his side's 3rd goal, along with 2 further points, it meant Moynalvey had a comfortable 9 point lead going into the last 5 minutes. Trim did not give up however, and a point and a second goal for Gilsenan in the final few minutes left the final margin at 5 points in Moynalvey's favour.
