Unbeaten Premier FC run remains in tact

Moynalvey maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier Football Championship Division four when accounting for Clann na nGael on a 4-13 to 2-9 score line at Moynalvey on Saturday evening May 14th.

It was the home side Moynalvey who were in control from the early stages opening up a 1-4 to 0-0 lead in the opening eight minutes. The points coming from Ciaran Harnan (2), Shaun Deering and 1-1 for Conor Quinn.

Clann na nGael opened their account in the 10th minute with a goal from Tomás Doyle.

Come the quarter hour mark Moynalvey had extended their advantage to nine points with 1-2 without reply, 1-1 from Adam Rooney and a point for Donal Smith leaving it 2-6 to 1-0.

Clann na nGael then hit four points, with Shaun Deering replying for Moynalvey to leave the score board read 2-7 to 1-4 with 25 minutes played.

Moynalvey reeled off a further 1-3 before the half time whistle, the goal from Paul Corcoran followed by points from Shaun Deering, Adam Rooney and Vinny Walsh to give Moynalvey a healthy half time lead on a 3-10 to 1-4 score.

The second half was a lot duller on the scoring front with the visitors outscoring Moynalvey 1-5 to 1-3 over the second period.

Clann na nGael were denied a second goal with a brilliant save by Moynalvey ‘Keeper Chris O’Malley in the 54th minute, but five minutes later it came from the penalty spot for the final score of the game, leaving the full-time score board read 4-13 to 2-9.

The win sees Moynalvey lie in second place in the Div. 4 Premier FC table on seven points, a point behind leaders Ballivor.
