Na Fianna 5-17

Despite the early stages of this contest being competitive, with just two points between the sides at the quarter hour mark 0-6 to 0-4 to Na Fianna, Moynalvey found themselves nine points adrift of their opponents at the break, 1-12 to 0-6.

Up until Na Fianna pulled away from Moynalvey in the second quarter Moynalvey’s four points came from three James O’Neill frees and a Darragh Branigan point. Na Fianna outscored Moynalvey 1-9 to 0-2 in the second period of the first half to lead 1-12 to 0-6 at half time.

Experienced players Dean Hendrick of Na Fianna and Moynalvey’s David Donoghue traded the first two scores of the second half before Na Fianna’s second goal came just before the midway point of the second half to leave them 14 points to the good, 2-15 to 0-7.

The addition of a further 3 goals in the final quarter put further gloss on Na Fianna’s winning margin as they outscored Moynalvey 3-2 to 0-4 in that final quarter to run out convincing winners on a 5-17 to 0-11 score line.
