Moynalvey played with the advantage of the elements in the first half but a combination of failing to take their chances and the concession of a sloppy goal meant the teams finished level at the interval on a scoreline of Moynalvey 0 - 7 Duleek/Bellewstown 1 - 4. Moynalvey's points came from Ciaran Ennis (2), Ger McHale (2), Shane Reilly, Ray Ryan and Martin Ryan.

On the resumption Duleek/Bellewstown made better advantage of the wind and gradually took control although Moynalvey missed a number of chances themselves.
