A strong Oldcastle outfit demolished a make shift Moynalvey side in this penultimate round of the Div. 2 B league played at Millbroook on Monday evening July 31st.

These two sides contested last year’s Div. 3 B League final in which it was Moynalvey who triumphed, this time it was Oldcastle who would have had an easier than expected victory here.

Struggling to piece together a team for this long journey for a 7:30pm throw in on a Monday evening Moynalvey shipped a heavy defeat at the hands of the home side who were looking to pick up points in the chance of avoiding relegation.

The half time score read 1-12 to 0-1, with Moynalvey’s solitary first half score coming from midfielder Brian Conneely.

Moynalvey stand in ‘keeper Michael Burke was definitely the busier of the two goal keepers throughout the hour, with the home side adding 2-8 to their tally in the second half to run out easy winners over depleted Moynalvey on a 3-20 to 0-5 score line.
