Moynalvey recovered from a disastrous 5 minute spell early in the second half when they conceded 3 goals to emerge victorious and make it 2 league wins from 3 played after this Division 3A league game played in Batterstown on Sunday, March 27th.

Moynalvey 0 - 15 Drumbaragh 3 - 4

Moynalvey owned possession for the first 15 minutes of this game but missed a host of chances including hitting the side netting for goals twice and sending 5 pointed efforts wide. They did however go into a 2 point lead through a Ray Ryan free and a Willie Byrne point from play. Drumbaragh slowly played themselves into the game and indeed led by a point at half time on a scoreline of 0 - 4 to 0 - 3, Moynalveys third point coming from Ryan.

Moynalvey were quickest out of the blocks early in the second half scoring 3 points in 5 minutes from Ryan (2) and Mark O'Sullivan to take a 2 point lead. However, Drumbaragh then got their first goal after a disputed free was taken quickly and the ball finished to the net. Moynalvey responded straight away with a pointed free from Ryan to level before 2 lapses at the back allowed Drumbaragh score 2 quick-fire goals to take a six point lead on a scoreline of 3 - 4 to 0 - 7.

The introduction of Moynalvey's 3 county senior hurlers who had all lined out against Kildare earlier in the day had a big impact on the remainder of this match as Moynalvey went on to dominate the final 20 minutes. Points from Byrne, O'Sullivan, Barry O'Keeffe (2) and Ryan (4) gave Moynalvey the lead and with the defence holding firm, 2 valuable league points were secured.

Having hit 15 wides and conceded 3 goals, Moynalvey have plenty to work on before the first round of the Intermediate Championship versus St Colmcilles in 3 weeks time.
