Moynalvey put the disappointment of the junior championship final defeat behind them to secure league promotion after a comprehensive defeat of St Brigids in this league game played under lights in Dunganny on Wednesday 17th October.

Moynalvey 3 - 8 St Brigids 0 - 2

Going into this game Moynalvey only needed one victory from their last 3 league games to secure promotion ahead of their Junior final conquerers Clann na nGael. Victory was not to prove an issue as a fitter and more mobile Moynalvey side brushed aside St Brigids with ease.

Leading from the off, Moynalvey ended up with a 15 point winning margin despite resting a number of regulars. Ciaran Collins bagged 2 goals for the victors. There will now be no need for Moynalvey to play their final 2 league games as promotion and relegation is decided with Moylagh joining Moynalvey in the league final decider.

Moynalvey will now compete in Division 3 next year alongside a host of intermediate clubs as well as senior club Kilmainhamwood and it is hoped this higher standard of league football might help propel the club to championship success in 2008.
